George Duke - Guardian Of The Light 1983

George Duke’s penultimate album for epic entitled ‘Guardian Of The Light’ is a mixed bag. It is in essence a concept album. It still has its moments. The eighties dancer ‘Reach Out’ and the funky ‘Still Fightin’ are definite highlights. Another strong tune is the ballad You (are The light)’ that owes more than a nod to Earth Wind And Fire. The album does encompass the many diverse elements of Duke’s music.   Including the singles Born To Love You, Celebrate and Reach Out
