Ralph MacDonald - Sound Of A Drum 1976

With Sound of a Drum, his debut album, MacDonald presented himself as a gifted producer and songwriter, his song Where Is The Love, a big hit for Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway, is included here as a mixture of Calypso and Disco with a cheerful solo by Toots Thielemans, as is Mister Magic, originally a crossover hit for Grover Washington, Jr. and another MacDonald composition, here played as Latin Jazz. Calypso Breakdown was later put on the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack.
This is a "hard to find" MASTERPIECE!!! and a beautiful cover painting as well.
